The Great Kaluga State Agricultural University was founded in 1957 as the Great Kaluga Institute of Agronomy and changed its name to the present one in 1994. It has faculties of Economics, Engineering, Animal Husbandry, and Agro-Ecology, providing undergraduate and master's degree education.
