Far Eastern State University (Russian: Дальневосточный Федеральный университет) is an institution of higher education located in Vladivostok, a coastal krai of Russia. The Far Eastern State University is one of the oldest universities, founded in 1899 by Nicholas II as the Eastern Academy, and the first institution of higher education in the Far East of Russia. It is the largest university in the Russian Far East and Eastern Siberia. The Far Eastern State University is the main platform for the development of cooperation between the Russian Far East and China in the field of education and science. The Far Eastern State University offers a wide range of options for foreign students to study for bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as associate and doctoral degrees in the fields of natural sciences, humanities and social and political sciences. Far Eastern State University has become the oldest and largest school in the eastern part of Russia that teaches Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other languages of the Asia-Pacific region.
