The Russian Federal Space Agency (Russian: Федеральное космическое агентство России English: Russian Federal Space Agency short for RKA) is commonly known as Roskosmos, formerly known as the Russian Aviation and Space Agency. The Agency is a federal government agency in charge of space science and various space research in Russia, responsible for the Russian space program and inherited from the former Soviet space program.
