Aeroflot, formerly known as AEROFLOT - Soviet Airlines, was founded in 1923. Initially founded as Dobrolet, in 1932 it changed its name to AEROFLOT, "Air Fleet". Headquartered in Moscow, Russia, and based at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. Aeroflot and Aeroflot were founded in 1992, and the Russian federal government owns 51% of Aeroflot shares. Aeroflot is the national airline of Russia. The company is the largest Russian airline.
