The Vienna State Opera (German: Wiener Staatsoper) is a world-renowned opera house that hosted its first performance (Mozart's Don Giovanni) in 1869 and its first performance (Beethoven's Fidelio) in 1955 after it was destroyed in World War II. The Vienna State Opera is closely associated with the Vienna Philharmonic, whose members are all from the opera orchestra.
