The Technische Universitaet München (TUM), for its outstanding innovation and excellent quality of science and education, was rated by the German Federation for Scientific Research (DFG) as one of the first three German elite-universities (Elite-Uni) and was listed by the German government as a priority in the "Future Plan". The German government is listed as a key target for funding and support in the "Future Plan". In the German Ministry of Education's university research ranking (CHE), Munich Polytechnic University has been ranked first for many years. The university currently has three campuses with 12 faculties and 127 majors.
