The University of Bamberg (German: Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, English: University of Bamberg) is a historic university in Germany, with a history dating back to 1647 Founded in 1647 as Academia Ottoniana, in 1972 the educational institution was integrated into the "Gesamthochschule", and in 1988 it officially became the University of Bamberg. The University of Bamberg teaches and conducts research in theology, language and literature, philosophy, psychology, history, and economics.
