GoPro was founded by Nick Woodman in 2002. He is a surfing, skiing and motorsports enthusiast, and initially created the company to find a better way to film himself and his friends surfing. What started as a 35mm camera with a wristband made from an old wetsuit and scrap plastic has grown into a multinational company that has sold more than 26 million GoPro cameras in more than 100 countries and territories.
