brief introduction

Fregatten- Jylland:Denmark large destroyer tour is the world's last screw-driven steam frigate, known as the world's oldest wooden ship, attracting many tourists to come to see. The restoration of the large Danish destroyer was completed in 1994 and it is now placed in the small town of Ebertshoft, Denmark for public exhibition.

The Danish Large Destroyer ( Fregatten Jylland) took part in the naval battle of Heligoland on May 9, 1864 during the Second Schleswig War in 1864. This large destroyer together with Niels Juel and Heimdall defeated two Austrian frigates and three Prussian robber ships, but failed to control the Prussian North Sea blockade and suffered great damage in this battle.

In the 1890s, the large Danish destroyer was left idle, but fortunately it escaped being scrapped in 1908. To protect the ship, it was towed back to the small town of Ebeltoft, Denmark in 1960 and its further deterioration was not stopped until 1984 when it was transported to a dry dock. The restoration of this abandoned destroyer was a very difficult project, in addition to the transmission, weaponry, engines, parts on board, 60% of the wood of the hull had to be replaced.
