brief introduction

YerkaLand:Polangis From his early childhood, pencils, drawing instruments, ink, paper and brushes have formed his beautiful world, and a sense of "home" repeatedly circles in his paintings.

Jacek Yerka, born in Poland in 1952 Born in Poland in 1952 to parents who both graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, he is said to be inspired by his childhood memories - the landscapes, feelings, tastes and colors. But viewers familiar with art history can immediately see that he inherits a classical and precise Flemish style.

In Hieronymus Bosch and Pieter Bruegel Sr. the most delicate brushstrokes depict the most bizarre imaginings. This tradition has been in existence for five hundred years, either explicitly or implicitly, and under Henri Rousseau and Dalí, nightmare and reality have merged into surrealism, and undoubtedly, in the sense of art history, Jacek Yerka is the contemporary successor of surrealism.

However, there is something distinctly "different" in Jacek Yerka's paintings, something that is a cosmic philosophy, a blend of religion and science, paradox and fantasy, nature and machine, past and future. Most importantly, there is a sense of "home" that repeatedly circles in his paintings. In the homeland, a world may contain another world, a world may threaten another world, a world may expect another world, a world may miss another world, a world may be based on another world, a world may fly to another world ...... A fairy tale's sweet shell hides the magnificence and horror of a myth. Mythical magnificence and terror.

Jacek Yerka has won international awards for his art, and has had exhibitions in Warsaw, Dusseldorf, Los Angeles, Paris and London. He works and resides, with his family, in a rural enclave of his native Poland.

Born in Poland in 1952, JACEK YERKA studied fine art and graphics prior to becoming a full-time artist in 1980.

In the end, it was his teachers who eventually relented, finally recognizing their determined student as a brilliant (though troubling) talent.

This site has been created as a result of cooperation between Mr Jacek Yerka and Agra-Art SA, for the purpose of promoting, showing and selling the Art as well as for gathering all people who became enchanted by the worlds presented by Jacek in his paintings.

After long talks we came to the conclusion, that the Artist should focus mostly on his work, leaving the every day chores to someone who would be responsible for promotion, communication and selling. lt;/p>

Agra-Art, represented by Konrad Szukalski is now the sole Agent of Mr Yerka, taking care of all commercial matters (as selling, shipping, ordering) and also acting as a representative and information source.
