Universiteit Hasselt is located in the small town of Diepenbeek, near Hasselt in the Belgian province of Limburg, and was founded in 1971 as the University of Limburg Center. Since June 15, 2005, it has been known as the University of Hasselt. It is now composed of three faculties: the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Applied Economics and the Faculty of Medicine.
