Brazil Department Store ( Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição) is Brazil's largest supermarket, hypermarket and home appliance store selling food, daily necessities, electronics, and other products, with headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil, and 142,000 full-time employees.

Ranked by revenue, GPA is the Latin America The second largest retail company and the second largest online retailer in Brazil. The company, Nova Pontocom, operates in e-commerce. Its distribution and logistics centers are located in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Curitiba, Recife, Arujá and Camassari.

In 2013, GPA plans to open more than 150 specialty stores in the Northeast and Midwest regions. In September 2013, Abílio Diniz, son of the company's founder, resigned as Chairman of the Board of Directors, with Jean-Charles Naouri as President and Ronaldo Iabrudi as CEO. 2014 saw revenues of R$72,804 million and profits of R$1,760 million.
