The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has the following main functions: to formulate and implement monetary policy; to issue the national currency; to supervise and manage the order of the banking system; to implement foreign exchange management and maintain a reasonable exchange rate level; to prevent and resolve systemic financial risks and maintain the country's financial stability.
