First Women Bank of Pakistan (First Women Bank) is a unique financial institution and commercial bank for women in the world, which was established in 1984 as a joint venture between the five largest banks in the country and the government, and was formally incorporated as a commercial bank in 1989. The government of Pakistan currently owns the majority of the bank's shares, with the remainder being divided equally among the five largest commercial banks.
