The Australian Open is the first of the four major global tennis tournaments (with the highest prize money among the four major tournaments), the other three being the Wimbledon Open, the French Open and the US Open. The Australian Open was founded in 1905 by Tennis Australia and is usually held in the last two weeks of January each year.
