Fai.IE:The Irish Football Association is Ireland's representative soccer team, administered by the Irish Football Association, which has an Executive Committee of five non-supporting members under its President, as well as a Board of Governors whose member representatives can vote at General Meetings (AGM).

The Irish national football team ( Republic of Ireland national football team) is the representative soccer team of Ireland, managed by the Irish Football Association, they did not play in any national team cup before the 1988 European Nations Cup in Germany. They finished in the top eight of the 1990 World Cup, the only time they have reached both the UEFA Cup and the World Cup consecutively. They also reached the second round of the World Cup in 1994 and 2002.

The Irish Football Association has an Executive Committee of five unpaid members under the President, and a General Secretary who leads the paid executive staff. The General Secretary leads the paid executive staff. There is also a General Council, whose members are represented by votes at the AGM.

Aviva Stadium is the only UEFA Five Star soccer stadium in Ireland, replacing the demolished Lansdown Road Stadium, which is due to open in Dublin in 2010, with a full capacity of 50,000 spectators. It replaces the demolished Lansdown Road Stadium as the home stadium of the Irish National Football Team and the Irish National Rugby Football Team.
