brief introduction

The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), one of the largest film festivals in Africa, was founded in 1976 by the Egyptian Film Writers and Critics Association and is held annually from November 7 to 18. It aims to develop the world of cinema and promote mutual understanding and exchange of experiences between countries, and requires that films must be non-political and not have been screened at other festivals. The highest award of the festival is the "Nafferty's Gold Award" for the best feature film, best documentary and best short film, and the "Nafferty's Silver Award" for the best director and best actor and actress. The "Bronze Medal of Naughtie" is awarded to a film of exceptional merit.
